Ensure a hassle-free journey with these essential travel tips for exploring Thailand.

Thailand offers a diverse range of destinations from bustling cities like Bangkok, known for its vibrant street life and grand temples, and Chiang Mai, famous for its stunning mountain scenery and rich cultural heritage, to the serene beaches of Phuket and Koh Samui. Explore Pattaya for its lively nightlife and beautiful beaches, or visit Ayutthaya for its historical ruins and ancient temples. Head to Krabi for its dramatic limestone cliffs and clear waters. Plan your route ahead to make the most of your trip and ensure you experience the best that Thailand has to offer.

Ensure a worry-free journey by taking essential precautions. Secure a travel insurance covering medical emergencies before you depart. While exploring, stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun. Familiarize yourself with local emergency services in each area you visit. Pack a basic first aid kit and any necessary medications. Consider getting recommended vaccinations before your trip to stay healthy throughout your adventure.

Consider purchasing a local SIM card from AIS or other brands for reliable internet access during your travels. This can be very useful for navigation and staying in touch with family and friends. Download offline maps to ensure you can navigate even in areas with limited internet connectivity.
Byklo puts rider safety first. Review these guidelines before your motorbike adventure in Thailand.
Wearing a helmet is required by Thai law and enforced at police checkpoints. Byklo partner shops provide helmets with every rental. Make sure it fits snugly and is fastened before riding. A proper helmet is the single most effective safety measure on a motorbike.
You need an International Driving Permit (IDP) with a motorbike endorsement, or a Thai motorbike license, to ride legally in Thailand. A car-only license is not valid. Police checkpoints in tourist areas like Chiang Mai and Phuket are common, and fines range from 500 to 1,000 THB for riding without proper documentation.
Before each ride, check that tires are inflated, brakes respond firmly, and lights work. Take photos of any existing damage at pick-up so you have a record. If anything seems off, message the rental shop through Byklo before heading out.
Thailand drives on the left side of the road. Obey speed limits, respect traffic signals, and be especially cautious at intersections. Traffic patterns differ from many Western countries, with mixed traffic of cars, trucks, motorbikes, and pedestrians. Stay alert, avoid riding at night when possible, and never ride under the influence of alcohol.
