Byklo lets you book a motorbike in Thailand in three simple steps: browse available bikes, select your rental dates, and complete the booking online. You will receive a confirmation email once the shop confirms your reservation. All booking details are saved in your Byklo account under "My Bookings", where you can review or modify them at any time.
Byklo accepts all major credit and debit cards through Stripe, our secure payment processor. Supported cards include Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Your card is authorized at booking time but only charged after the rental shop confirms your reservation. No cash payment is needed at the shop.
Byklo allows free cancellation for most bookings. To cancel, go to "My Bookings" on byklo.rent, select the booking you want to cancel, and tap "Edit Booking". The cancellation policy is shown on each bike listing before you book, so you always know the terms in advance.
Byklo emails your receipt automatically after each completed booking. You can also access all receipts anytime by logging into your account on byklo.rent and navigating to "My Bookings".
To legally ride a motorbike in Thailand, you need a valid motorbike license from your home country along with an International Driving Permit (IDP), or a Thai motorbike license. A car-only license is not sufficient. Police checkpoints are common in tourist areas, and riding without proper documentation can result in a fine of around 500-1,000 THB.
Byklo offers motorbikes across multiple categories to suit every rider: small scooters (110-125cc) for city travel, medium scooters (126-160cc) for longer rides, comfort scooters (155-200cc) for touring, and big bikes (250cc+) for experienced riders. You can filter by engine size, brand, and bike type on byklo.rent to find the right match for your trip.
Yes, Byklo has bikes suitable for long-distance travel across Thailand. For extended journeys, we recommend choosing a bike with at least 150cc for comfort and reliability on highways. Many riders use Byklo to travel between cities like Chiang Mai and Pai, or to explore the islands.
No, motorbikes rented through Byklo cannot be taken across international borders. Thai insurance and registration are only valid within Thailand. Taking a rented bike across the border would void your coverage and violate the rental agreement.
Byklo renters should first ensure their own safety, then contact local authorities to file a report. Next, notify the rental shop through the Byklo messaging system or via the contact details in your rental contract. Document the scene with photos if it is safe to do so. The shop will guide you through the next steps, including any insurance claims.
If your Byklo rental breaks down, contact the rental shop directly through the in-app messaging system or the phone number in your booking details. The shop will arrange assistance, which may include roadside support, directions to the nearest service center, or a replacement bike depending on availability.
Yes, many rental shops on Byklo offer motorbike delivery to your hotel, airport, or another location. If delivery is available, you will see an "Add Delivery" option on the booking page with the delivery fee shown upfront. This is a popular option for travelers arriving at airports or staying in areas outside the city center.
The rental contract is provided by the shop at the time of bike pick-up or delivery. Contract terms vary by shop, but Byklo ensures that all partner shops provide clear documentation covering insurance, deposit, and return conditions.
Deposit policies vary by shop on Byklo. Most shops require a deposit at pick-up, typically in cash. The deposit amount is shown on the bike listing page before you book, so there are no surprises. Importantly, Byklo partner shops do not hold your passport as a deposit.
